Amy Jackson has developed a wanderlust for travel, adventure, & photography over her short thirty-one years. As a NW native, she accumulated enough rain to feed her sprouting mind for eighteen years before heading to the sun-soaked islands of Hawaii. There she studied computer science, ASL, & the art of cruising, brah. She also worked various jobs to enhance her skill levels & to meet amazing people.
She then continued her career as an adventure tour guide all over North America. Her main duties were to cater to a diverse clientele of mainly foreign travelers, taking them on one to nine week excursions in a big white van. The groups would mostly camp & she was the sole guide. Amy loved this life, & stayed on the road for five & a half years before discovering she needed to find another path that included a bit of stability, not to mention a bed & a closet.
Ms. Jackson attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, MA, where she graduated in June 2007. She currently works in NYC as a freelance photographer & photographic assistant with a portrait/lifestyle slant, & has been known to work at various studios throughout the city.
Her not-so-long-term goal is to have an expedition photography business, where she will be documenting others research projects, tourism stints, & general tomfoolery. Hopefully somewhere warm & friendly. In the meantime, she will continue to work hard & push forward in every creative way possible. Call her to make some magic happen!
She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, with her impossibly feline-tastic cats, Calvin and Felix.
